Celebrate National CACFP Week
March 16-22, 2025

It’s National CACFP Week! Join us in celebrating the childcare providers, afterschool programs, and schools that serve healthy meals and snacks to children through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This week, we want to highlight the Jamestown YMCA, a CACFP sponsor serving meals in Jamestown to children in childcare and afterschool programs. Read our blog post to learn more!

The CACFP reimburses eligible afterschool programs and childcare providers for serving healthy meals and snacks to children in their care. Participation helps alleviate hunger and supports kids’ learning, development, and formation of lifelong healthy eating habits.

Thousands of childcare providers and afterschool programs already participate in CACFP. Many more are eligible but not enrolled. Take action to help us spread the word and expand access to this valuable program:

  1. Visit AfterschoolMealsNY.org and ChildCareMealsNY.org to learn about eligibility, access resources, and more.
  2. Share your story about CACFP in your program to help providers understand its benefits.
  3. Learn more about National CACFP Week with the National CACFP Sponsors Association.
  4. Post on social media, and use the hashtag #CACFPweek to help spread the word. Tag us on Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Share these sample posts to raise awareness:
