CEP Action of the Week: Download your 2022-2023 direct certification data before Saturday, July 15, if you haven’t already! |

The CEP Application: What you need to know - Download your DCMP data before July 15: On July 15, schools will no longer have access to SY 2022-2023 direct certification data. NYSED has released a memo encouraging all SFAs to conduct a final match of directly certified students for SY 2022-2023 before July 15th and for schools who may become eligible with CEP rule changes to retain this data.
- Use the correct data for your application: CEP applications for the upcoming school year must be based on enrollment data as of April 1, 2023 and SY 2022-2023 direct certification data. When applying for CEP, schools must provide their enrollment and direct certification (by eligible category) at the building-level. In other words, you must indicate the number of students enrolled and directly certified in each of your school buildings (or RAs).
- Learn about strategies for improving your direct certification: Direct certification is vital to strong CEP implementation. Use this tipsheet to identify which students are directly certified for free school meals and improve your direct certification process.
- Submit your CEP application by Thursday, August 31st: Learn more about what to expect with the CEP application process with NYSED’s CEP Application Instructions.
