New York EBT System
Unavailable on May 19, 2024

New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) has announced that New York’s Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) system will be unavailable on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 12:01 a.m. until 11 a.m. The duration of the outage could be longer or shorter than expected.

During this time, New York's EBT system will convert to a new EBT vendor. Throughout the outage, SNAP EBT access for food purchases will not be available. The EBT customer service helpline, mobile app, online client portal, and retailer helpline will also be unavailable.

After the transition, SNAP participants can use their EBT cards as usual, and EBT cards, PINs, and the EBT customer service helpline phone number will remain the same.

Following this transition, the ConnectEBT app and ConnectEBT online client portal will no longer be in use for EBT cardholders. Cardholders will need to download or access the new ebtEDGE app and client portal, which will allow cardholders to check transactions and deposits, freeze and unfreeze their card, and change their PIN.

Information on the new ebtEDGE app and website will be posted on OTDA’s webpage when it is available.
