National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) 2022:
Celebrate and Take Action Today

Take Action for NSBW 2022: Tell Congress to Extend Critical Meal Flexibilities for Kids

Over the past two years, schools and local organizations have continued to make sure kids get the healthy food and nutrition they need despite challenges caused by the pandemic. But their ability to continue doing so is under threat if Congress doesn’t take action on critical child nutrition waivers TODAY. USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service released a new report today that underscores the negative impact of supply chain disruptions and staffing challenges on school nutrition programs during the 2021-2022 school year.

To make sure kids continue to get the food they need, Congress must authorize USDA to grant nationwide nutrition waivers as needed through the 2022-2023 school year. Contact Congress TODAY and urge them to do this quickly. In honor of National School Breakfast Week, take action now!

Spread the word and share on social media: The #childnutrition waivers offered communities the flexibility needed to ensure kids didn’t go to bed hungry. Currently set to expire this summer, the hungriest time of year, summer meal sites may not be able to run without these waivers. Take action now: https://bit.ly/3ISuMF9
