As announced late last week, New York has issued full SNAP benefits for November. All pending SNAP issuances have been released as of yesterday. We applaud our state leaders and program administrators for their swift actions to deploy food benefits to the nearly 3 million New Yorkers who rely on SNAP. While the government shutdown came to a close this week, the harm inflicted on low-income families will have lasting impacts, further compounded by the rollout of unprecedented cuts to SNAP in H.R.1. Hunger Solutions New York will continue to advocate for federal and state policies that protect and strengthen critical food security programs, and will share updates on advocacy opportunities in the coming weeks and months.
