EBT Card Skimming and Phishing Scams Impacting SNAP Participants in New York The United States Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service (USDA-FNS) and New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) issued alerts about ongoing EBT card skimming and phishing scams resulting in the theft of SNAP benefits. Encourage clients to safeguard their EBT cards and pin numbers and monitor their account for fraudulent charges.
